Lace up your bowling shoes and dust off your golf clubs, the Muskogee Senior Games are coming to town. The two-day event hosted by Muskogee Golf Club and Muskogee Parks and Recreation will feature 6 different areas that those over the age of 50 can compete in.
“There’s still time for competitors to enter the games,” said Kevin Anthis, event organizer with the Muskogee Swim and Fitness Center. “This is a great way for seniors to engage in friendly competition and have a good time doing it.”
Events open for competition are swimming, pickleball, and bowling on June 19 and tennis, golf, corn hole, and horseshoes on June 26. Registration for most events is $25. Bowling is $34 and golf is $55. Medals will be awarded for the top three finishers in each event. Age groups for competition will be 50-59, 60-69 and those over 70.
“It should be a fun event to watch as well as compete in,” Anthis said.
The two day event will conclude with a gala at the Muskogee Golf Club.
